AGM USHERS IN NEW ERA
The 2008 Annual General Meeting of the Institute of Architectural Ironmongers was held on 26 April 2008 in Bath. It was the best attended and most successful ever, a culmination of a successful year for the Institute.
As well as a programme of speakers and awards, the meeting saw the election of a new Institute Chairman: Andy Howland, Sales Director at Royde and Tucker. Paul Spencer from Acorn Spencer Architectural Hardware was appointed Vice Chairman.
In his address, Andy outlined some of his plans for the year ahead: "The Institute is embarking on a Year of Change. We have a new website and branding, potential new regional branches, new people in various roles. Hopefully change can continue and this will encourage increased numbers of Architectural Ironmongers to attend institute meetings. Over the next few months it is my intention to open branches in both Belfast and Dublin. "
